Legal
Terms & Conditions.
Last updated · 3 November 2025
These terms govern your use of the website at pdfsamurai.co.uk (the “Service”) and any tools, content or features provided through it. By accessing the Service you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.
1. Who we are
The Service is provided by PDFSamurai, based in Liverpool, United Kingdom. References to “we”, “us” or “our” mean PDFSamurai.
2. The Service
We provide tools that allow you to perform operations on PDF files — merging, splitting, compression, conversion and so on — from within a web browser. The processing of your files takes place client-side on your own device. We do not receive, store, or process the contents of your files on our infrastructure.
3. Your responsibilities
By using the Service you confirm that:
- You are at least 16 years old, or using the Service with a parent or guardian's supervision.
- You have the legal right to process the files you upload to a tool — for example, you own them, hold the necessary licence, or have permission from the rights holder.
- You will not use the Service to process unlawful content, including child sexual abuse material, content infringing copyright you do not hold, or material whose distribution is restricted in your jurisdiction.
- You will not attempt to disable, reverse-engineer, deface, overload or otherwise interfere with the Service or any user's access to it.
4. Acceptable use
Your use of the Service is also subject to our Acceptable Use Policy. Breach of that policy is breach of these terms.
5. Free and paid tiers
Most tools are available without payment or account. Where premium features are offered, the relevant pricing and additional terms are set out at the point of purchase.
6. Intellectual property
The website, its design, copy, source code, brand marks and logos are owned by PDFSamurai and protected by intellectual-property laws. You may use the Service in the ordinary way for its intended purpose; you may not copy, redistribute, frame or otherwise exploit material from the site without our written permission.
Your files remain yours. We never claim any rights over the content you process through the tools.
7. Third-party libraries
Our tools are built on top of open-source libraries — includingpdf-lib, pdf.js and others — each licensed under its respective open-source licence. We acknowledge and thank the maintainers of these projects.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We make no warranty that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any specific result will be obtained from its use. You are responsible for keeping your own backups of any document before processing it. See our Disclaimer for further detail.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PDFSamurai will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential or special damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of data, loss of profit, or business interruption.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — for example, liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
10. Changes to the Service or these terms
We may add to, change, suspend or discontinue features of the Service at any time. We may also update these terms; material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page, and continued use of the Service after such an update constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law
These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any non-waivable consumer-rights provisions of your country of residence.
