Cookie Policy.

This policy explains how PDFSamurai uses cookies and similar technologies on pdfsamurai.co.uk. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store. It can be read on subsequent visits to remember something — a preference, a session, or an interaction with an advertiser. Modern browsers also let websites store similar data via localStorage and IndexedDB; we treat those the same way as cookies.
2. Categories we use
2.1 Strictly necessary
These are required for the website to function — for example, to remember your cookie-consent choice itself, or to keep dark-mode active across page loads. Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent under PECR / UK GDPR.
Examples on this site:
pdfsamurai_cookie_consent_v1— your consent choice, stored inlocalStorage.theme— light or dark mode preference.
2.2 Analytics (privacy-respecting)
We may run a privacy-friendly analytics tool that does not set cookies and does not collect personal data. Where any aggregated analytics tool we use does set a cookie, we will list it in this section and only set it after you opt in.
2.3 Advertising
Where we serve advertising through Google AdSense or another ad network, those networks set cookies on their own domains in order to measure ad performance and (where you have consented) to personalise the ads you see. These cookies are only set after you accept advertising cookies in the banner. Refusing them does not affect the tools on this site.
Google's use of advertising cookies is documented at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
3. Your choices
- Use the cookie banner shown on your first visit to accept or refuse non-essential cookies.
- You can change your mind at any time by reloading the site with a private/incognito window, or by clearing site data in your browser.
- Most browsers let you block all cookies, block third-party cookies only, or wipe stored cookies. Refer to your browser's help pages.
4. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where present, by treating them as a withdrawal of consent for non-essential cookies.
5. Changes
We will update this page if our cookie usage changes. Material updates are reflected by changing the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, re-showing the cookie banner.
